About the Event

(Ruleset: Hearthlight)

Wooden wheels creak and groan under the weight of burdens hidden under layer upon layer of oiled cloth. She looks back over the caravan. Over two moons of travelling at night. Fear of discovery haunting their very footsteps. She turns back towards their destination, a city laced with canals and surrounded by high walls. Clucking her tongue she shakes her head from side to side. The braids of her beard are so soaked they slap audibly against her breastplate. She shakes her head at the stain of rust beginning to form down it’s front. How long has it been since she actually wore steel? It is a lesser medium for less talented people. Not like what she brought with her. What weighed down these wagons would change this little city forever. Yet, for this mission to succeed no one could know her for who she was until she was safely inside those walls.

This place was perfect. The death of Birch disturbed the soil so severely the river to the south eroded until it was a small bay, verging on a small sea, before the ocean. The walls which seem to get taller each spring as more and more challenges rear their ugly heads. Be it the growing number of shapeshifters coming from the swamps, the raiders of the newly reconciled Eternal Empire or the hordes of unliving that are no longer able to enter the gates of Necropolis of Myr.

With all the chaos thrown at this border town, those strangers from Source Island, still clung to their independence. She could respect that. If anything, maybe they will be desperate enough to grasp at the one thing she could possibly offer that no one else could possibly bring to the table.

A way home.
